On March 1, 2026, local time, a missile strike occurred in a conflict zone surrounding Jerusalem, Israel. A BYD Yuan PLUS (known as the ATTO 3 overseas) was located on the periphery of the blast. Despite being subjected to a powerful shockwave and shrapnel that caused severe cosmetic damage, the vehicle’s core safety systems and body structure withstood the extreme test. All five occupants inside survived with no fatalities.
According to on-site footage and multiple verifications, although the windows shattered and the body sustained damage in several areas, the A, B, and C pillars remained undeformed, the passenger cabin remained intact, and the doors could be opened normally—providing a critical guarantee for evacuation. Airbags deployed correctly, hazard lights remained active, and both low-voltage and high-voltage power systems remained functional. Crucially, the Blade Battery did not catch fire, explode, or suffer from thermal runaway, effectively controlling the core safety risks associated with electric vehicles.
The Israel Red Cross confirmed that among the five occupants, the driver sustained moderate injuries, two suffered minor injuries, and two were treated for shock. All are out of danger.
