The first mass-produced model equipped with BYD Flash Charge, the Equation Leopard Titanium 3 Flash Charge Edition, is launched.

On March 13th, the Fangchengbao TAI 3 Flash Charge Edition was officially launched, available in two versions: a 620km Rear-Wheel Drive and a 565km All-Wheel Drive, with prices ranging from 153,800 to 169,800 yuan. The TAI series will be BYD’s first mass-produced model to feature flash charging technology and will be the first to begin deliveries. Notably, the first owners of the TAI 3 Flash Charge Edition will enjoy 18 months of free flash charging.

With the rapid expansion of its infrastructure, BYD had increased the number of its flash charging stations to 4,597 as of March 12th. Additionally, the highly anticipated TAI 7 EV Flash Charge Edition has opened for pre-order, with a price range of 220,000 to 250,000 yuan. Early bookings will receive an extra 6 months of free flash charging.

Equipped with BYD’s flash charging technology and the second-generation Blade Battery, the TAI 3 Flash Charge Edition can charge from 10% to 70% in approximately 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in about 9 minutes under normal temperatures. Even in low-temperature environments of -30°C, the charging time only increases by about 3 minutes, significantly reducing range anxiety.

Built on the intelligent EVO+ platform, the TAI 3 Flash Charge Edition features stacked laser-welded silicon carbide modules and an integrated thermal management system for enhanced energy efficiency. It is equipped with the iATS intelligent all-terrain recognition system, three electronic differential locks, a stuck-vehicle assistant, Leopard Turn, and a crawl mode, allowing it to handle various road conditions with ease. The vehicle also boasts four major intelligent technologies: the BYD “Tianyan Zhiyan” driver-assistance system (with an optional LiDAR version), an active pre-scanning + Yunche-C intelligent damping body control system, the Fangchengbao-exclusive AI smart cockpit, and the same smart ecosystem found in the TAI 7.

To meet personalized needs, the TAI 3 Flash Charge Edition introduces a new exterior color, “Stardust Purple,” and a new interior, “Grey-Blue Two-Tone.” It also offers 14 trendy modification packages and 16 light-modification options for the rear-mounted storage box. Standard comfort features include ventilated and heated front seats, double-layered soundproof glass, a heated steering wheel, and rear privacy glass. Furthermore, the all-wheel-drive version is upgraded with premium features such as passenger seat memory and leg rest, a compressor-based hot-and-cold refrigerator, and a 14-speaker Devialet sound system.
